Become A MIGATE Apprentice

Apprenticeships are offered in a variety of areas, which you can see from our list of Types of Apprenticeships. At different times of the year, MIGATE offers apprenticeships in all of these areas.

The majority of apprenticeships set a minimum standard, concerning age and education level. Before considering your application, you will find the following minimum standards and personal attributes MIGATE look for:

  • Be over the age of 15 years;
  • Have completed at least a year 10 level of education;
  • Be of any gender;
  • Be willing to commit to at least 4 years of training;
  • Enjoy working with your hands;
  • Be in search of a career path, not just a job!

After receiving your application, all applicants are to undergo aptitude testing, which assists us in determining your strengths and interests. These tests also provide us with information other than your school marks.

If you are currently out of your trade, we want to hear from you too!

MIGATE also recruits apprentices for Mount Isa Mines. Applications are normally called for in August, closing in early September.
